Role Overview/Summary:
The Human Resource Manager will update and advice members of staff on any matters concerned with employment terms and conditions and employment procedures and policies.
You will take ownership of the successful recruitment, induction, retention, deployment and administration of all new recruits, filling ad hoc staffing needs and ensuring all personnel/guards employed are trained and developed to deliver the highest standards of service required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- You will be the first point of contact for all HR-related queries. You would address issues related to staff discipline, grievance, redundancy, redeployment, ill health and other HR matters.
- Review and implement HR-related documentation, such as contracts of employment and HR policies and procedures.
- Implement and manage a streamlined recruitment process and liaise with clients on the first level of HR processes constantly.
- You will recruit staff for MFS and this includes developing job descriptions and person specifications, checking application and guarantor’s forms, shortlisting, interviewing and selecting and you will work closely with the Recruitment/Operations Manager.
- You will work with the Head of Operations to ensure the effective performance management of staff and guards including overseeing probationary process for new starters/recruits.
- You will coordinate to process monthly payroll in line with the Internal Auditor/Head of Accounts, to process monthly salaries and forward to the Managing Director.
- You will call all supervisors at each and every MFS location to cross check nominal rolls of salaries as well cross checking advices from supervisors and operations. (you will forward the advices to the Managing Director for authorization and approval)
- Submit monthly and quarterly reports to the Managing Director with regards to the turnover, and other related matters and incidents that may occur, as the supervisors and Head of Operations will submit for your review (This should include a chart stating the actual and current number of guards for both Accra, Tarkwa and other locations).
- Providing day to day advice to department managers on all human resource issues, including management of staff, mediation, employee relations etc. and monitoring employee satisfaction levels (forward to the MD for approval)
- You may be required to do extra working hours.
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Management Studies, Industrial Relations, Psychology, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- A Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Ghana Labour Laws and Human Resource best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience in Human Resource Management, with.
- Bat least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Experience in recruitment, selection, onboarding, and employee retention strategies.
- Proven experience in performance management, employee relations, disciplinary procedures, and grievance handling.
- Experience coordinating payroll administration and staff records management.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and monitor HR policies and procedures.
- Experience preparing HR reports, workforce analytics, and management presentations.
- Experience working in the security services industry, facility management, or other labour-intensive industries will be an added advantage.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality.
