Job Brief
A new and growing biochar factory is seeking experienced Wood Yard Loader Operators to support raw material handling at its production facility in Drobonso.
The successful candidates will operate front-end/wheel loaders to receive, stack and move wood materials and ensure the production plant has a continuous supply of feedstock.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate front-end/wheel loaders to offload, stack and move wood materials.
- Move wood from stockpiles to the chipper/feed area according to production requirements.
- Maintain safe and orderly stockpiles and keep different wood materials properly separated.
- Identify and remove stones, metals, plastics and other foreign materials.
- Keep loader routes and wood-yard working areas clear and safe.
- Conduct daily pre-start equipment checks, including fuel, oil, coolant, tyres, lights and alarms.
- Report equipment faults, leaks or damage immediately.
- Maintain accurate shift records and properly hand over equipment to the next operator.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience operating a front-end loader, wheel loader/payloader or similar heavy equipment.
- Valid Ghanaian driver’s licence and relevant heavy equipment/operator certification.
- Ability to perform basic daily equipment checks.
- Basic ability to read, write and complete shift records.
- Good safety awareness and ability to work around trucks and heavy machinery.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays.
- Experience in forestry, sawmill, mining, quarry, construction or industrial operations is an advantage.
Note: The work environment is outdoor, hot, dusty and noisy. Applicants must be comfortable working in an industrial environment.
