The company enables merchants to accept cards and momo with fast settlement and no monthly fees and has been recognized as a fast-growing fintech in Ghana.

Role Purpose

Key Responsibilities

Reconciliations and Settlement Integrity

  • Own D+0/D+1 reconciliations between POS/N-Genius/blended terminals ↔ The Company’s systems ↔ acquirers/banks ↔ MNOs ↔ GhIPSS rails.
  • Investigate and clear breaks such as duplicates, missing transactions, late settlements, incorrect splits, and FX rounding issues.
  • Validate merchant settlement calculations and payout files; ensure fee tables and promos are correctly applied in production.

Prevention of Leakage

  • Build and run controls for unbilled transactions, under-billing, chargeback exposure, reversal mismatches, and refund abuse.
  • Monitor success/decline rates and identify silent failures (network timeouts posting auth but not capture).
  • Partner with software engineering unit to implement preventative logic (idempotency, dual-posting checks, retry rules).

Fees, Pricing and Partner Statements

  • Verify that MDR/MSC, scheme fees, MoMo fees, GHIPSS/ACH fees, and partner commissions are accurate vs. contracts.
  • Review acquirer/MNO/GhIPSS statements and recover leakages through claims and debit notes.

Disputes and Chargebacks

  • Track chargebacks and representments; reduce losses through evidence packs and root-cause fixes.
  • Publish weekly dashboards and corrective-action trackers with Ops & Merchant Support.

Regulatory and Compliance Alignment (Bank of Ghana)

  • Ensure practices align with Bank of Ghana’s Payment Systems and Services Act, 2019 (Act 987), AML/CFT obligations, and PCI DSS standards.
  • Support BoG reporting and maintain auditable trails of reconciliation and control evidence.

Merchant and Product Enablement

  • Provide revenue-impact analysis for new products and partners including pilot reconciliations and go-live readiness.
  • Train internal teams and key merchants on dispute avoidance and settlement best practices.

Reporting, Analytics & Tooling

  • Build automated exception reports (SQL/BI) for settlement gaps, fee variances, and suspicious refund patterns.
  • Maintain daily/weekly/monthly dashboards and executive packs with KPIs and recovery metrics.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Revenue leakage ≤ 0.05% of processed volume (monthly).
  • Break resolution ≥ 95% of D+1 breaks cleared by D+3.
  • Fee accuracy ≥ 99.9% across card/MoMo/GhIPSS/QR.
  • On-time regulatory and partner reports.
  • Chargeback loss rate within set targets.
  • Recovery amounts and trends compared to prior quarters.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 5 years in Revenue Assurance, Reconciliation, Finance Operations, or Risk within fintech, payments, banking, or telecom (MTN).
  • Hands-on reconciliation across card acquiring, momo, GHQR/QR, and GhIPSS rails.
  • Strong SQL, Excel, and BI tool proficiency.
  • Knowledge of BoG Act 987, AML Act 1044, and PCI DSS.
  • Experience with chargebacks and momo dispute processes.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or related field. Certifications like CISA, CFE, CAMS, or ACCA are a plus.
