Production Manager – Furniture Company

Salary: GHC 5,000 per month

Our client is a well-established designer and manufacturer of furniture and joinery solutions, serving residential, corporate, hospitality and institutional clients across West Africa. The company delivers customised furniture, interior fit-out and related project solutions for homes, offices, apartments, hotels and other facilities.

Role Overview

The Production Manager will plan, coordinate and control furniture and joinery production to achieve agreed quality, cost and delivery targets. The role requires strong shop-floor leadership and the ability to coordinate people, materials, equipment and schedules across multiple client projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee daily furniture and joinery production activities.
  • Translate approved project requirements into practical production schedules and work plans.
  • Allocate labour, materials, machinery and workshop resources efficiently.
  • Supervise production teams, set clear daily targets and monitor output and productivity.
  • Ensure finished work meets approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.
  • Track raw-material usage and take action to reduce waste, defects and rework.
  • Identify production bottlenecks and resolve issues before they affect project deadlines.
  • Coordinate closely with design, procurement, quality assurance, project and installation teams.
  • Enforce workplace health, safety, housekeeping and equipment-use procedures.
  • Monitor production costs and support cost-control and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare production reports and provide management with timely progress updates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Production Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Project Management or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of production or manufacturing management experience.
  • Experience in furniture manufacturing, joinery, woodworking or a closely related industry is strongly preferred.
  • Good knowledge of production planning, workflow management and quality control.
  • Strong leadership, team supervision and performance-management skills.
  • Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
  • Excellent planning, communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
