Role Overview

The client is seeking an experienced and hands-on Operations & Production Manager to oversee warehouse operations, production activities, inventory management, and workforce productivity.

The successful candidate will play a critical leadership role in ensuring efficient utilization of materials, minimizing wastage, maintaining accurate inventory records, and driving operational excellence across the production function.

This role is ideal for a practical and detail-oriented professional with strong experience in furniture manufacturing, woodworking, cabinetry, joinery, interior fit-out, or a related manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations Management

  • Supervise daily production activities to ensure efficiency, quality, and timely completion of work.
  • Monitor production schedules and coordinate resources to meet operational targets.
  • Ensure compliance with established production processes and quality standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity and operational efficiency.

Warehouse & Inventory Management

  • Oversee warehouse operations, stock movement, and storage processes.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of raw materials, work-in-progress items, and finished goods.
  • Conduct periodic stock counts and inventory reconciliation exercises.
  • Ensure proper handling and utilization of materials to reduce losses and wastage.

Materials Planning & Control

  • Review and interpret cutting lists, material requirements, and production specifications.
  • Monitor material consumption and ensure optimal utilization of resources.
  • Work closely with procurement and production teams to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Implement controls to prevent material shortages, excess inventory, and wastage.

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise production staff, warehouse personnel, and other operational team members.
  • Monitor employee productivity and ensure adherence to company procedures.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and performance management support to team members.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Reporting & Administration

  • Prepare operational and inventory reports for management.
  • Monitor key operational metrics and recommend improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of stock movements, production records, and operational activities.
  • Support management in planning and decision-making through timely reporting.

Requirements

  • HND, Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience in manufacturing, furniture production, woodworking, joinery, cabinetry, interior fit-out, or related industries.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and production processes.
  • Ability to interpret cutting lists, production plans, and material specifications.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and reporting.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Fluency in English; ability to communicate in Twi will be an advantage.

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Age range: 40–50 years.
  • Ghanaian, Indian, or Filipino candidates are welcome to apply.
  • Practical, disciplined, and highly organized professional.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to minimizing waste and improving efficiency.
  • Experience within furniture manufacturing or a related production environment will be highly advantageous.

Salary & Benefits

For Local Candidates

  • Monthly salary: GHS 5,000 – GHS 10,000 (Negotiable based on experience).
  • SSNIT contributions.

For Expatriate Candidates

  • Monthly salary: USD 1,000.
