A reputable company in Kumasi that sells home appliances and general goods is seeking an experienced Account Officer to join its team. The Account Officer plays a key role in supporting the overall financial health of the organization by preparing financial reports, monitoring budgets, and assisting with audits.
Responsibilities
- Record daily financial transactions such as receipts, invoices, and payments.
- Maintain and update the general ledger with accurate financial data.
- Reconcile bank statements and internal accounts on a regular basis.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in financial records.
- Ensure timely payment of statutory and other expenses.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary financial documents and explanations. Provide support during audits, tax filing, and year-end closing activities.
- Safeguard sensitive financial information and ensure confidentiality.
- Work closely with the finance team to ensure smooth financial operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven work experience as an Account Officer or similar role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Tally).
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Experience with payroll management.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other financial reporting tools.
