Job Brief
A new and growing factory in Drobonso, Ashanti Region is recruiting 6 experienced Loader Operators to support its production and raw-material handling operations.
The successful candidates will operate front-end loaders, wheel loaders, payloaders, Bobcats or similar heavy equipment to move raw materials, manage stockpiles and feed materials into production equipment.
Operators may be assigned to either the wood yard/raw-material handling section or the main production area, depending on their experience and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate front-end loaders, wheel loaders, payloaders, Bobcats or similar equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load, offload, move, stack and organise raw materials within designated factory areas.
- Move materials from stockpiles to processing and production areas.
- Feed wood chips or other materials into designated production equipment as required.
- Maintain a steady supply of materials to support continuous factory operations.
- Ensure materials are properly separated and stored in designated areas.
- Identify and remove stones, metals, plastics and other foreign materials where necessary.
- Conduct daily pre-start inspections of loaders, including tyres, fuel, oil, coolant, lights, alarms and other basic operating systems.
- Report mechanical faults, leaks, unusual noises or equipment damage immediately.
- Keep loader routes, stockpile areas and working zones clean and safe.
- Work closely with supervisors and production teams to coordinate movement of materials.
- Maintain basic shift and equipment records.
- Follow all company health, safety and operational procedures.
- Properly hand over equipment and relevant information to the next shift.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of practical experience operating a front-end loader, wheel loader, payloader, Bobcat or similar heavy equipment.
- Valid Ghanaian driver’s licence and/or relevant heavy-equipment operator certification.
- Good knowledge of basic equipment inspection and daily maintenance checks.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely around workers, trucks and production machinery.
- Basic ability to read, write and complete operational records.
- Physically fit and comfortable working in an industrial environment.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a production team. Experience working in a factory, sawmill, forestry operation, quarry, mining site, construction site or other industrial environment will be an advantage.
Work Environment
The role involves operating heavy equipment in an active industrial environment that may be hot, dusty and noisy. Applicants must be comfortable working outdoors and around production machinery.
