Job Brief
A new and growing biochar factory is seeking an experienced Tipper Truck Driver to support the transportation of wood raw materials from plantations and other collection points to its production facility in Drobonso.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive a tipper truck to transport wood and other approved raw materials to the factory.
- Operate safely on plantation tracks, haul roads and public roads.
- Ensure loads are properly secured and within safe and legal limits.
- Follow correct procedures when tipping materials at the factory.
- Pass through the weighbridge as required and maintain all load and delivery documentation.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections covering tyres, brakes, lights, hydraulics, oil and other critical components.
- Maintain accurate trip, mileage, load and fuel records.
- Report mechanical faults, accidents and damage immediately.
- Observe all road safety and company transport requirements.
Requirements
- Valid Ghanaian commercial driver’s licence of the appropriate class for heavy goods/tipper vehicles.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience driving tipper trucks or heavy goods vehicles.
- Experience transporting timber, sand, stone, agricultural produce or similar bulk materials is preferred.
- Strong experience driving loaded vehicles on rough, unpaved or plantation roads.
- Good understanding of safe tipping procedures.
- Basic vehicle inspection and maintenance skills.
- Ability to read, write and maintain trip and weighbridge records.
- Reliable, safety-conscious and honest.
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when delivery schedules require.
