Job Brief
A new and growing biochar factory is seeking experienced Senior Loader Operators to support continuous production operations at its facility in Drobonso.
The successful candidates will operate front-end loaders/Bobcats to feed wood chips into production equipment while also providing day-to-day leadership to other loader operators on their assigned shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate front-end loaders/Bobcats to feed wood chips into the rotary dryer and other production equipment.
- Maintain a steady feed rate to prevent equipment from being overloaded or starved of material.
- Coordinate movement of wet and dried wood chips between production areas.
- Work closely with the Shift Supervisor and control room to match material feeding with plant output.
- Monitor feedstock quality and report incorrect materials, foreign objects or oversized pieces.
- Lead and guide loader operators assigned to the shift.
- Ensure equipment pre-start inspections are properly completed.
- Maintain good housekeeping around the dryer and chipper areas to minimise fire and safety risks.
- Maintain accurate records of quantities handled, downtime and operational issues.
- Support the Shift Supervisor on routine operational matters when required.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience operating front-end loaders or similar heavy equipment.
- Experience in a production plant, sawmill, quarry, mining, forestry or similar industrial environment strongly preferred.
- Valid Ghanaian driver's licence and relevant heavy equipment/operator certification.
- Previous experience leading or guiding other equipment operators.
- Ability to complete operational records accurately.
- Good understanding of industrial safety.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays.
