Updated: Sep 2018.

If you reach this page, you are probably looking for the best cars for Uber in Ghana because you are considering joining Uber as a car owner or you are already into Uber and want to know the best cars to use. Whatever your reason, welcome to this researched write up which we believe will help you make the most appropriate decision depending on your own circumstances (perhaps in terms money).

Uber launched in Ghana in June 2016, using the city of Accra as their first point and later in Kumasi in 2017. Many Ghanaians have embraced the service and the outlook is bright. Just as many ride on Uber, many have also invested into buying cars for use on Uber. If you fall in the second category, we understand you will need a car that can serve as a means to make a profit. With this in mind, we created a list of the top 8 best cars for Uber in Ghana. We need to clarify that our list is LESS from the perspective of Uber Riders (passengers) and MOST from the angle of profitability for car owners or Uber drivers.

Our list consists of both brand new and (home) used cars that are popular on the road for both personal use and for Uber trips. The list is made up of models that are known to have some kind of benefit to Uber drivers. We know each individual Uber driver may need something different from others so we compiled a list that does not just focus on one specific aspect of a car. While it is easy to think fuel mileage is the most important factor, we also focus on features that can lead to a more pleasant Uber trip for passenger and driver, such as easy-to-use tech and spacious seating.

The new Alto is powered by a three cylinder 1.0-liter petrol engine successfully launched as an engine of the Splash. This unit is light and compact with low friction characteristics. Maximum power output is 68HP (50kW) with maximum torque of 90Nm.

From the feedback we had from both Uber drivers and riders in Ghana, the Alto is a good car for Uber. The fuel economy is only second to the Hyndai Eon. The only drawback is that it is a little bit less spacious and can be uncomfortable for riders especially when there is more than one rider.

But in terms of initial capital outlay (money issues), the Alto is comparatively cheaper and this could be the reason why it is preferred for people looking for low budget brand new options.
